Royal Palm Academy employs an open admissions policy with regard to color, race and national or ethnic origin. Our admission requirements and general guidelines are listed below.
ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS
- Acceptance requirements for Toddler Program:
- All aplicants must turn 3 between September 1 and January 31st
- All applicants must be "potty-trained".
- The Toddler program is a half year program starting in January after the winter break
- Acceptance requirements for 3 year-olds into RPA Pre-K3 Program:
- All applicants must be age three (3) before September 1st
- All applicants must be "potty-trained" to be admitted to the Academy
- Acceptance requirements for 4 year-olds into RPA Pre-K4 Program:
- All applicants must be age four before September 1
- All applicants will be participate in a development observation to determine social readiness and maturity
- All applicants must be "potty-trained" to be admitted
Acceptance requirements for Kindergarten and 1st Grade students:
- All applicants must be age five (5) for kindergarten before September 1st
- All applicants will be administered an entrance test and their development will be observed for social readiness and maturity
- All applicants must provide a copy of their most recent report card
- All applicants must provide a student evaluation from their current teacher
- Acceptance requirements for 2nd through 5th grade:
- All applicants will be administered a standardized entrance exam and evaluated for academic aptitude, social readiness and maturity
- All applicants must provide a copy of their transcript from past two to three years, national achievement test result, any current psychoeducational evaluations, Individuals Education Plan (IEP's), or specialist reports (i.e. speech and language, tutors, etc)
- All applicants must provide a student evaluation from current teacher
- Acceptance requirements for 6th through 8th grade (Middle School):
- All applicants will be administered a standardized entrance exam and evaluated for academic aptitude, social readiness and maturity
- All applicants must provide a copy of their transcript from past two to three years, national achievement test result, any current psychoeducational evaluations, Individuals Education Plan (IEP's), or specialist reports (i.e. speech and language, tutors, etc)
- All applicants must provide a student evaluation from current Language Arts and Math teachers.
GENERAL ADMISSIONS GUIDELINES
INTERVIEW
A family interview with the Executive Director is required.
REVIEW OF APPLICATION
The RPA Admissions Committee team will review the application upon receipt of the completed application package.
EVALUATION
The admissions office will schedule testing dates on an individual basis.
PRIORITY GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSION
When considering admission of students to Royal Palm Academy, priority considerations will be given to these criteria in the following order:
-Currently enrolled students in good academic standing
-Siblings of currently enrolled students in good academic standing
-Students in good standing on the current year's waiting list
NOTIFICATION
Applicants are notified of acceptance upon receipt of all required documents via an acceptance letter, which will be mailed to the student's home.
WAITING LIST
Applicants who qualify for acceptance, but cannot be admitted due to limited openings, will be placed on the waiting list. Applicants must reapply for subsequent years.
